As much as I adore my nephews (all 6 of them, counting the one on the way!), I must say there is something very special about welcoming the first little girl to the family. This past week, Caleb and I were able to make the trek out to Binghamton, NY, to meet Kaitlynn Moody, my sister Jessica's second child, who was born on June 18, a month premature.
Caleb and I hitched a ride with my mom, who was bringing Kaitlynn's big brother, Connor (2 1/2), back home to his parents after an extended stay with his grandma and grandpa. Traveling with a 3-month-old and 2-year-old sure made for a fun, but a very long trip with many stops. Connor was very excited to be reunited with his parents and I was thrilled to put my arms around my little sister and hold her precious baby daughter! We had lots of fun opening all of her "girly" gifts...more pink and purple than I've seen in a long time!!!
We stayed out in the Binghamton area for three nights. It was hard to say goodbye, but we were thankful for the time we had together. Please pray for Jessica as she heals from her C-section and tries to get the rest that she needs with two little ones at her side. Continue to pray for baby Kaitlynn, that she would continue to grow stronger each day.
